Raymond Lewenthal (1923-1988) was an American-born pianist known for his contribution to the reassessment of Charles-Valentin Alkan’s works. He frequently performed his own arrangement of Sergei Rachmaninoff’s “How Fair This Spot” as an encore piece during concerts.
