Study on Chopin’s Etude, No. 50 (Incomplete)
No. 30A and No. 50 of “Studies on Chopin’s Etude”, which were thought to have been lost to date, have finally been published. Both are unfortunately unfinished works, but they are especially valuable to those who know Chopin’s Etudes and Godowsky. The commentary was written by Mr. Eiji Nishimura, who supervised and edited the two volumes of complete “Studies by Chopin’s Etude” published by Yamaha Music Media. Even he, who has a deep knowledge of Godowsky, couldn’t hide his excitement for this discovery of new Studies. For No. 30A, Chopin’s Etude Op. 25-3 has been transformed into a march, and for No. 50, three pieces, his Etude Opp. 10-2, 25-4 & 25-11 are boldly combined in one study.
