Leopold Godowsky’s transcription of “Le Cygne” (composed by Camille Saint-Saëns) is one of the most frequently performed of Godowsky’s many transcriptions. This new edition includes information from the autograph manuscript by Godowsky himself, which is held in the Library of Congress in the USA. The commentary is written by Eiji Nishimura, one of Japan’s leading researchers and performers of Godowsky’s music, and the commentary focuses on the relationship between Camille Saint-Saëns and Leopold Godowsky.
